Badlimbston

Badlimbston was made on Godot Engine in solo (with some extra help from a friend) during 3 days for the Mini Jam 187: Duality, with the limitation "Everything at a cost".

So this game is a solo badminton game, playing against CPU opponents. But instead of having 1 racket, you can have as much as you have arms. Nope it's not 2, it's 6, 3 on each side. 

Okay so why would I need 6 rackets to play badminton ? Well, what if hitting the shuttlecock had a great chance to cause your arm to detach from your body ?? That's exactly what happens in Badlimbston! But don't worry, you can pick up the arms thrown by the crowd and attach it while you play so you don't run out of arms. So that's the "Everything at a cost" part (like, hitting back can cost you an arm). And for the Duality part, you will have different arms on the left side and on the right side of your body, which makes placement even more important considering that arms have different power and durability!

Anyway the game is as dumb as it sounds, but there are some real skills to develop, so enjoy!

Rules :

You are competing in a badminton tournament! 

But you have up to 6 arms, 3 on each side, and every arm has more or less chance of breaking after each hit.

You need to beat 5 opponents in a row in order to win. If a point ends when one of the players has no more arms, the match ends. The player with the highest score wins. If the match ends on a draw, the player that has remaining arms wins. If none of the players have remaining arms, you win (I'm very generous).

Crowd is throwing arms at you during the match (pretty normal if you ask me), you can pick them up by pressing the spacebar key when in range. But you cannot pick them up during services! When you win a match, you regain up to 2 normal arms if you had less.

Controls :

This game only supports keyboard, sorry I did not have enough time to think how to add controller.

• You move around using the Arrows

• Each arm equipped on you is assigned to a key, which are E, D, C, Y, H, N (weird but it works on AZERTY and QWERTY keyboards, yay!). The more you hold, the stronger the hit will be!

• You can pick up arms on the ground using Spacebar
